SENIOR PROJECT ARCHITECT
If you understand how to put a building together and have the superior technical knowledge to produce sound architectural drawings, LCA Architects has an outstanding opportunity for the right person. As an established, award winning architectural firm conveniently located near BART in Walnut Creek and Oakland, California, our dynamic, self-motivated team members contribute in all aspects of architectural design. Ideal candidate will be skilled in producing first rate construction documents, coordination of all consultants, obtaining approvals from agencies, and providing construction administration. Sound project delivery fundamentals and initiative in managing budgets and schedules a must. Be prepared to tell us some stories.
REQUIREMENTS
- Architectural Registration in California or NCARB
- Minimum 10 years of professional working experience.
- Experience leading Type V and III, projects in low and mid-rise construction.
- Outstanding abilities in detailing, problem solving, and construction documents and specifications.
- Expert knowledge in permitting and construction administration.
- Expert knowledge of current building codes.
- Superior familiarity with materials and products.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD a must!!
Other skills include project planning, client communications and team leadership. The ideal candidate must be adept at handling multiple projects, delegating work effectively, and critically reviewing and coordinating the work of others.

PROJECT ARCHITECT
An established, award winning architectural firm based in Walnut Creek and Oakland, California, is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Project Architect who is skilled with production of construction documents, coordination of all consultants, obtaining approvals from agencies, and providing construction administration with a designer’s heart. Ideal candidate will possess strong experience in all phases of a project from SD to Construction Administration.
REQUIREMENTS

- Experience leading Type V and III, projects in low and mid-rise construction
- Outstanding abilities in design, detailing, problem solving, and documentation experience
- Superior familiarity with materials and products
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal.
Must be an AutoCAD expert
Other skills include: project planning and staff budgeting, design, construction documents, client communications and team leadership. The ideal candidate must be adept at handling multiple projects and multiple teams, delegating work effectively and critically, reviewing and coordinating the work of others. Strong knowledge of the design delivery process, good common sense and articulate graphic and verbal communication and writing skills are an absolute necessity.

OFFICE CULTURE
TEAM BUILDING EVENTS
Team building events let us express our creativity in a less technical way. We have a good time embracing the unknown challenge: bridge building, high-rise design or the annual pumpkin carving contest with a twist. Friday breakfast spreads, project milestones and accomplishments, birthdays, weddings, babies, and the annual holiday party are all reasons for us to celebrate.
Our staff builds camaraderie outside of the office as well. We’ve had fun at the beach participating in the Leap Imagination in Learning Sand Castle Classic and have organized field trips to museums, notable architectural sites and lectures. Running in the Big Sur Marathon relay, movie nights, bowling, and attending local events such as the opening of the California Academy of Sciences are additional ways we get to know one another outside of the office.
LCA UNIVERSITY
LCA University is our in-house program that offers AIA continuing education seminars so our staff remains up to date with code changes. We have outside consultants come to our office to educate us about new architectural programs. Product representatives educate us about the latest products and technology so we can provide our clients with state-of-the-art and cutting-edge buildings.
LCA is a member of the United States Green Building Council and we have developed an in-house training program to support our staff in becoming LEED Accredited Professionals.
The LCA Library provides employees with study materials for the ARE Exams.
