Fire Station No. 11 is an “essential services” station, housing male/female dormitories, a kitchen, exercise room, decontamination area, and an emergency services wing. The corner property in downtown Clayton required a creative design solution to make the site work. In addition, a separate acoustic report was obtained to address concerns of nearby residents.
LCA met with homeowners to inform, educate and answer questions from residents of the neighborhood where this station was built.
The design met City of Clayton’s design guidelines. A fire bell and observation tower were included in this project to reflect the surrounding residential neighborhood and the city’s “Old Town” western theme.
