Shadowbrook Winery re-establishes the winemaking tradition that once thrived in Walnut Creek, CA in the 1890′s. Rustic materials including Redland clay tiled roofs, window frames made of reclaimed wood, and a smooth plaster exterior reflect California’s early heritage and agricultural roots. The overall design and ranch-like elements set the winery into a backdrop of rolling hillside, adorned with grapes and olives.
The design melds centuries-old construction with modern-day richness and comfort. Wine production is contained within an ancillary space that is architecturally integrated with the single family residence. The main wing of the residence has a great room, large dining room, a well equipped kitchen downstairs and a cozier apartment style suite upstairs.
