Mission Valley ROP
An existing MVROP campus was relocated to a new 45,000 sf two-story facility adjacent to Kennedy High School in Fremont, an existing Technology Magnet School. The master plan allowed the new facility to share programs with the adjacent school. A direct and securable pedestrian link between the campuses was a key planning component. Designed for a highly visible corner site, the landmark building is set back from the street and nestles into the gently bermed, landscaped setting.
The architectural design presents a corporate, high tech image for a school program training students for jobs primarily in the local Silicon Valley business environment. The building houses 18-20 classrooms, some with moveable walls to accommodate a varied and evolving technical curriculum. Also included in the building is a central administration, student services offices, career center, staff lounge/patio and bookstore. A two-story central lobby/atrium was designed to serve student, faculty and community events, and provides areas for seating on the first and second floors. On-grade parking for over 400 cars is hidden from street traffic by berms and landscaping.
