This fire station is centrally located to serve surrounding residential areas, a hospital, convalescent home, middle school, and an elementary school. The north wing of the station houses firefighter quarters, including an exercise room, day room and kitchen. A two-bay apparatus room is strategically located between the south wing and the north wing, offering privacy and noise separation between the two areas. The south wing houses two offices and Battalion Chief Quarters.
