Oakland Redevelopment
Three buildings housing commercial, retail, and condominium uses were proposed for this downtown Oakland city block, along with on-grade shared parking. The project proposes that the old Carnation plant currently on the property be demolished and materials from the building be recycled into construction of the new buildings. The project planned to incorporate sustainable design practices and ‘green building’ materials wherever possible.
At the client’s request, a large climbing wall was planned for the entrance to one of the buildings with office space over retail.
