Castro Valley High School - New Stadium

Significance: Efforts by the School District and the community led to the successful passage of a school bond. A new athletic stadium at Castro Valley’s only high school was designed to serve as an iconic gathering place for the community. An overall master plan that transformed the circa 1950’s style campus into a facility that embraces the 21st century was created and existing outdated buildings and fields were replaced.

Designs created by LCA Architects, in collaboration with the Castro Valley Sports Foundation, H.A.R.D., athletic league coaches, and faculty/district staff, generated excitement for the new facility.

Synthetic turf and track surfaces were installed to reduce maintenance, limit environmental impact and increase player safety. A prominent and dramatic arched entryway and pedestrian-friendly promenade draw visitors to the stadium and are a source of pride for the community.
