Ben Johanson

With an expertise in yield studies, entitlement processes and code interpretations, Ben is often the first person to work with LCA clients. Specializing in commercial and multi-family residential projects, Ben works diligently to navigate state, regional and local ordinances to provide the foundation for successful development. Ben’s personal connection to San Francisco Bay area’s housing shortage gives him extra incentive to get the “difficult” projects through the approval process. Ben believes listening and being responsive to the questions asked by both clients and jurisdictional agencies is key to his success. He can take this input and devise alternative studies to find common ground for acceptance. His ability to quickly and accurately apply quantitative analysis in the entitlement process allows the project team to explore alternatives. Understanding how to communicate with a wide audience also reaps benefit as he can balance the right level of specificity and methodology of drawing to maintain flexibility.
